German robotics startup RobCo has reached a valuation of more than $1 billion, doubling its valuation from earlier this year and highlighting growing investor interest in Physical AI and autonomous industrial robotics.
The Munich-based company develops autonomous robots designed to handle repetitive industrial tasks such as pallet stacking and weighing raw materials. Its latest flagship, Alfie, is a two-armed, self-learning robot designed to operate more like a human worker and adapt to tasks on the factory floor.
The latest transaction reportedly involved the sale of existing shares, while RobCo had already raised $100 million in Series C funding earlier in 2026 from investors including Lightspeed and Lingotto.
RobCo's rapid rise reflects the broader shift toward AI-powered physical automation, as manufacturers look for ways to address labor shortages, improve efficiency and automate increasingly complex production processes.
Why it matters: The $1 billion milestone shows that investors are increasingly viewing industrial robotics not simply as hardware, but as a major Physical AI opportunity capable of transforming manufacturing.
