Indian fintech company Razorpay has partnered with OpenAI to help Indian businesses launch and manage advertising campaigns on ChatGPT Ads through its growth marketing platform, Razorpay Engage. The partnership comes as ChatGPT expands its advertising platform into India.
Under the partnership, Razorpay Engage will help brands prepare product catalogues, structure product feeds, launch campaigns, and measure and optimise performance on ChatGPT Ads. It will also use an AI agent built around ChatGPT Ads best practices to help manage campaigns, with human oversight from the Razorpay Engage team.
The partnership reflects a broader shift in how consumers discover products. Instead of relying only on traditional search and scrolling through ads, consumers can now describe their needs conversationally and explore recommendations through AI. OpenAI says ChatGPT Ads are designed to appear separately from ChatGPT's answers and do not influence the model's responses.
Why it matters: Razorpay's role could make it easier for Indian brands to enter AI-led advertising and conversational commerce, turning ChatGPT into another important discovery and customer acquisition channel. For marketers, this signals a shift from traditional search advertising toward AI-powered product discovery and intent-based advertising.
