October 12, 2026 – Amazon is one of several suitors reported to be circling Decart, the Israeli AI startup that Anthropic recently decided not to buy. The price under discussion is $6 billion to $7 billion. Amazon has not confirmed any offer.

Anthropic began talks in August on a deal valued at about $6 billion, which would have been its largest acquisition. Later reports said the figure had risen to about $7 billion, with most of it payable in Anthropic shares. Bloomberg has since reported that Anthropic completed due diligence and decided not to proceed. Neither company has explained why. A person familiar with the talks said the two could still collaborate in other ways.

Decart was last valued at about $4 billion, after a $300 million round in May. A sale at $6–7 billion would be a premium of 50% to 75%. The company has raised roughly $450 million in total.

Its main product is software that claims to make AI models run up to eight times faster on the same hardware, including Nvidia GPUs, Google TPUs and Amazon’s Trainium chips. It also builds world models. Nvidia, an existing investor, was reportedly close to buying it before a larger bid appeared.

Israeli media named Amazon, SpaceX and Nebius as possible buyers. Amazon already works closely with Decart, but no report has independently verified an Amazon bid or its size.

Decart and Amazon have not commented publicly. Anthropic and Decart both declined to comment on the earlier talks.
