Bengaluru fintech Oolka is reportedly in talks to raise $45 million from Bessemer, Prosus and other investors, according to a Moneycontrol headline. The talks are unconfirmed, and the round's valuation, structure and final investor list are not covered here.
What Oolka does
Oolka runs an AI-powered credit management platform for Indian consumers. It tracks a user's credit health, suggests what to repay first, helps manage EMIs and rewards good credit behaviour. It also runs a credit marketplace with banks and has named Yes Bank, IDFC Bank and AU Small Finance Bank as partners. The company was founded by former Meesho executive Utkrishta Kumar.
How it got here
Oolka raised a $7 million seed round in September 2025, led by Lightspeed and Z47. In April 2026 it raised a Series A of about ₹130 crore (nearly $14 million), led by Accel India with Lightspeed and Z47 participating. One report put that round's post-money valuation at roughly ₹730 crore ($87.6 million).
At the seed stage the company claimed nearly two million users and over ₹100 crore in credit repayments processed. Its FY25 financials, as reported by Entrackr, showed revenue of ₹5.52 lakh and a loss of ₹5.58 crore, so it was still at a very early revenue stage.
Why it matters
If the talks close, a $45 million round would be more than three times the Series A, raised only months later. That pace suggests investors are betting on consumer credit tools built around AI agents, and on the large group of Indians who are new to credit.
Two things to watch: whether Oolka's revenue grows enough to support the larger round, and how it handles regulatory scrutiny of credit and lending-adjacent apps. Neither is covered in the sources used here.
